We will not parley

God bless Australia. Recent threats of terror have met with a steely response (via lgf).

“We are still investigating the authenticity and relevance of that body, but we will not take any notice of threats of that kind,” Prime Minister John Howard, a close ally of President Bush, told reporters in Sydney on Monday.
“We will not parley and negotiate with terrorists and I believe the overwhelming majority of the Australian public will agree with us,” said Howard, who sent 2,000 troops to the U.S.-led war on Iraq.

Belmont Club makes a salient comparison of Australian and Canadian foreign policy. It seems clear to me that Iranian fascists will face no consequences for the torture and murder of a Canadian citizen. They will instead be rewarded by visits from our dignitaries and with business from Canadian oil interests.

This country is broken. It will take some work to fix it.

Canada has become a joke, really. The decisions made regarding any foreign matters are so out to
lunch and not thought out we look like idiots
and we deserve to be, we elected the leaders.

Graham for DOD? There goes any real hope of being able to provide our troops with any decemt
equipment for, probably, another ten years.

Then Canadians think they have some reason to look down on America, well, we do not, we should
be thankful, we did not have to spend money on
our military for ten years because our former
leader, aided and abetted by our present one
just thought we could expect help from this
same neighbor if something happened. Lazy,
with no foresight and no real pride in our country describes them well. Certainly the former
found a use for the money saved, they gave it to
Quebec with ADSCAM.

The Canadian federal government is a more relevant, dangerous and immediate threat to Alberta than international terrorism. As bad as Bin Laden and his gang are, Martin and Layton are more likely to attack us for being more successful than they.

Instead of bombs, Martin and Layton will use Federalism against us to rob us of our homes, jobs, and futures so that the rich people in Toronto can have a little bit more. It is grossly unfair and must be stopped. All means should be used, including secession.

When we do declare independence, they'll go so far as to call the Army off snowshovelling duty in Toronto to attack us. They will spare no one who gets in the way of the Three P's = Profits, Property and Privilege. It would be best for Alberta to appeal to the international community to intervene before the Canadian Army death squads start their brutal work.

This is why Canada should not have a military, or even an armed police force. They can't be trusted with them.

If you don't think they'll do it, I remind you of Quebec 1970 and Oka 1989-90. They have never hesitated to use military force to enforce federal rule. Externally it's a different story, but internally it's more like an army of occupation and oppression.

Martin and Layton are the real terrorists.
