Someone explain this

Enough about who lost the federal election for the Tories (although Trudeaupia makes an excellent point: there was nothing 'lost' because we were never in a position to win). More importantly, who is to blame for the boring Euro Cup with two nobodies in the final and a hideous little doesn't even belong in the tournament team (Greece) winning the whole thing. I'm still convinced it is an anti-Italian conspiracy.

At least it is obvious who lost it for the English side. At least the French followed them out soon after.

The Greeks beat France, then they beat the Czechs, and then they beat the same Portuguese they had beaten on the first day of the tournament. They deserved it.

Well, from what I was able to observe, Greece plays the soccer version of "The Trap".

There were two teams that rode good luck to the finals because they were more than the sum of their parts because they worked togther very well as teams. Both teams were good on defense and the counter-attack.

Yeah, that England-Portugal game was a real snoozer. How ever did the one hundred or so England fans around me ever stay awake and upright in the pub? Please.

And enough about the exciting Italians. Clearly you did not watch the all-Milan Champions League final two seasons ago. For all of its supposed technique and precision, it was truly like watching Italians dry paint.

All I know is that had I bet a couple of bucks on the Greeks, I would have some decent spending money right now.

Paul Tuns,

No offense, but you sound like a socialist or something. If these two teams were nobodies, and if Greece didn't even belong there, then how did Portugal and Greece make it to the final round? Clearly, the teams that truly deserved to be there (according to you) should have had no trouble defeating these "nobodies" long before then.

A local Greek guy once assured me: "There are NO homosexuals in Greece!!"

Where do you even START with a comment like that...?

The problem with international soccer competitions is that much depends on the luck of the draw. England and France were stuck in the same group, for example. Portugal has a strong team. Greece, I would agree, are not known to be a soccer powerhouse.
