its cause evil harper will stop syphoning tax money to them to sup-port their coke habits, and stop forcing their music down the throats of canadians.. it's a disaster!!!!!!

right, kids... try and at least hide the self interest a little bit... how about a new plank for the conservatives: 300% tax rates for artists previously supported by nationalistic regulaiton!

it'll clean up a lot of artists, by cutting off their heroin money!

I only wish I'd seen this before I voted at the advance polls on Saturday, where I most certainly did not vote to Stop Harper! I'm going to lose a lot of sleep knowing that I've disregarded the wise counsel of noted philosophers Saukrates, Brassmunk and G Stokes, not to mention the Canadian Idol, Ryan Malcolm.

I'll make it up to you next time, guys.

If I vote for Stephen Harper he'll change things so that I no longer have to listen to Avril Lavigne songs on the radio?

I'm just not seeing a downside here.

If we cut VideoFact who is gonna fund my esoteric music video? Do you mean I won't get that generous government grant to study the reprodctive organs of gnats? Gosh, maybe pot won't be legalized after all, that would be a bummer. Oh damn - all that money I made in America on my last tour - I should really give it back to those stupid American's because I don't want a militarized society protecting my vegan ass here in Canada. Jack and Olivia came out to one of my shows once and they said I was great and it just made me feel so important and like, they said I can use my voice to bring about 'positive change'. If they get rid of the CRTC who is going to make sure that my hard core fans in Nunavut will get to hear my latest album? I may not have gone to college but I read in Mother Jones that Bush is Hitler and it's so true, its scary!

Why? Why did I vote for these evil Nazi neocon fascists in the advance poll, before Ryan Malcolm could show me the way?

And how can we knuckle-dragging conservatives compete with logical arguments like this?

Bush was responsible for more executions than any other U.S. Governor of recent times. Harper has suggested the prohibition of capital punishment would be re-opened in Canada.

So, are Canadian content rules legite? Is this just another form of protectionism or are they a cultural necessity? I think Canadian music can stand on its own. In any case, I wouldn't expect a bunch of punk bands to feel any other way. And hey, I love punk music.
