Utterly shameless

Can anyone really believe the guy who has been running a campaign of demagoguery could possibly have the nerve to say this:

The Prime Minister expressed dismay at the tone the campaign has taken.

"I suppose (this kind of thing is) one of the reasons why there is the cynicism out there. I think the public really does want to see a clash of ideas. I don't think the public wants to see these kinds of comments," he said.

"There is a higher standard to which we should all aspire."

Absolutely unbelievable.

Check out your headline on this press release, Mr. Martin. Blaring "Ralph Klein: Public Health Risk" across a headline as if the Alberta premier were a communicable disease is just one example of the mendacious demagoguery coming from the Liberal campaign. There is indeed a higher standard to which we should all aspire, especially our Prime Minister.

I have to agree with Andrew Coyne. I used to think Martn had a smidgen more honesty and integrity than Chretien. This campaign has disabused me of that notion.
