Conservatives lead in Atlantic Canada
Earlier Damian Penny noted that according to the latest SES tracking poll, the Conservatives were ahead of the Liberals 41-34 and wondered if this was a real change in Atlantic Canadian thinking or just a statistical blip. I talked to a Liberal strategist last week just after the Conservatives moved ahead of the Liberals and he predicted that if the Tories maintained their lead in the polls for a week, Atlantic Canada and Quebec would move toward the Conservatives to ensure that they were part of the government and their MPs got a piece of the action. Ironically, the Conservatives might win more seats east of Ontario for liberal reasons ("give me my government program").
