Kyoto, Still Dead
Today's "La la la la I can't hear you la la la la" News;
Moscow has controlled the fate of the environmental pact since Washington pulled out in 2001. Diplomats think the decision is complicated for President Vladimir Putin because approval would offend Washington, while rejection would upset the EU, Russia's top trading partner.
That would be this EU...
As the European Union (EU) uses World Trade Organization membership as a threat against Russia, evidence is mounting that the EU itself is failing to uphold its end of the Kyoto Protocol bargain.
And meanwhile, back in Paul Martin's Canada, the Kyoto grant money keeps pumping.. pumping...pumping... out the taxpayer well. This could be an issue for the Conservatives to pick up - why is Paul Martin deceiving Canadians about our so-called commitment to an international agreement that is the environmental equivalent of the Dead Parrot Sketch?
