Holy war

Let's get this straight. Americans troops in Arabia -- and certainly Saudi Arabia -- are a blasphemy against Islam. American troops are not supposed to war against terrorists during Ramadan. And how dare they step into the "Holy City" of Najaf.

Muslim terrorists, on the other hand, should feel free to use mosque minnarets as sniper posts.

Where -- other than Irshad Manji -- are moderate Muslims denouncing this fusion of Islam and violence?

If they did, they would be threatened and harassed in this part of the world, and probably killed in Muslim countries. I am not sure how I would behave under those conditions. However when given the chance to vote, not a lot of them end up voting for extremists. One of the things that set off that Moqtada guy was that local moderates have been winning all the village elections in south Iraq.

You people think you are so "educated" that you can post these messages about "History of Islam" and it's all Bull.
The truth is in the sick and despairing ways in the manner in which these people kill.I think the prisoners DESERVE being tortured and the heck with the Geneva. We need info, and we should take anything we can get HOWEVER we get it! What the Muslims are doing is absolutley wrong, occupation or no occupation, desperateness or not. It's just plain SICK!
There are no excuses for this kind of behavior, and they all should be punished. If you are dumb enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and get caught with your pants down, then you deserve to be in a prison with the rest of them!
You idiots won't win and Kerry won't be elected.

And who the *ell cares about "CRICKETS CHIRPING you meathead!?!?!?!?!?

Men are animals, animals fight for dominance. The difference between the two, is that man has discovered technology. Technology brings forth risks which add to natures equation of 'natural selection (If you build guns people will die, if you build planes some will crash). Perhaps this is natures population control to ensure a technologically advanced race does not completely destroy all that is natural. Man also has a vast imagination which accounts for elaborate imagery in the mind, like stories or religion. Animals fight out of pure instinct. Men too, but the imagination has conjured a belief of over-significance, men think they are above all that is in the realm of reality by comparing themselves to powerful deities. Societies from different regions will use their differences against each other as a reason to fight, aside from instinct alone. Inside those societies men will fight each other instinctually for success, and because one just thinks he’s better due to his feeling of over-significance created by his imagination. Therefor, it is my belief the all that is happening in society is unstoppable, and all this talk is unnecessary. Peace on earth is merely another figment of our imagination. Nature will spit us out when she has had enough.
