WS Radio: Jonah Goldberg

Listen live (QuickTime), Mondays, 4 - 6 p.m. EST

"Political Animals"--the flagship radio show of Western Standard radio--is a weekly political talk show on 88.1 WBGUFM hosted by Jay Lafayette, Peter Jaworski, and Terrence Watson.

Today, our guest will be Jonah Goldberg, contributing editor with National Review and author of "Liberal Fascism."

We'll ask Jonah what's so fascist about liberalism (or "progressivism"), what he hopes to accomplish with his new book, and a few tough questions as well (like whether or not he's guilty of committing the fallacy of the excluded middle).

Gerry Nicholls will be joining us as well at the top of the first hour to talk about Canadian politics.

Political Animals is on every Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, broadcast out of 88.1 FM in the Bowling Green, Ohio area, and on www.wbgufm.com worldwide. To listen to a direct stream, click here (QuickTime). To participate in the discussion, you can call 888-7-WBGUFM, or send us an email at politicalanimals-at-wbgufm-dot-com.

WS Radio: Ezra Levant interview

Here is the interview we just conducted two hours ago with Ezra Levant. Take a listen (if the little widget doesn't work for you, here is the direct link):

Amongst many other things, Ezra explains that Shirlene McGovern, the state "interrogator" appearing opposite Ezra in the viral YouTube videos, has resigned from having anything to do with Ezra Levant's complaint before the Alberta Human Rights Commission. According to Ezra, the negative attention she received for playing a role in squelching speech and expression in Canada was too much for her. Listen to the interview to hear more.

WS Radio: Ezra Levant and Senator Jim DeMint

Listen live (QuickTime), Mondays, 4 - 6 p.m. EST

"Political Animals"--the flagship radio show of Western Standard radio--is a weekly political talk show on 88.1 WBGUFM hosted by Jay Lafayette, Peter Jaworski, and Terrence Watson.

Today's guests include Ezra Levant, former publisher of the Western Standard, and South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint, author of "Why We Whisper."

We will be asking Ezra about his recent appearance before the Alberta Human Rights Commission, his thoughts on M.P. Keith Martin's motion to repeal section 13 of the Human Rights Act, and about Syed Soharwardy's recent decision to drop his complaint against Ezra.

And we'll be speaking with Senator DeMint about his most recent book, and the claim that freedom of (religious) speech and expression is under attack in the U.S. We'll also ask him about earmarks, since the Senator is renowned for his fierce opposition to them.

As always, Gerry Nicholls will join us at the top of the first hour to tell us about political shenanigans in Canada.

Political Animals is on every Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, broadcast out of 88.1 FM in the Bowling Green, Ohio area, and on www.wbgufm.com worldwide.
