Hillary Clinton for Secretary of State?

Hillaryclinton Speculation is running rampant that Hillary Clinton will become the next Secretary of State under president-elect Barack Obama.

According to the New York Post:

Two Democratic officials confirmed that Clinton - long rumored to be a contender for the job - is under serious consideration.

Adding to the intrigue, Obama and Clinton met yesterday in Chicago, according to a Democratic official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the information.

Clinton's motorcade was seen leaving Obama's office complex shortly before he left for the day.

What does a secretary of state do? Here's the explanation, according to Wikipedia:

Most of the non-original domestic functions of the Department of State have been transferred to other agencies. Those that remain include storage and use of the Great Seal of the United States, performance of protocol functions for the White House, drafting of proclamations, and replies to inquiries. In accordance with the United States Constitution, the Secretary performs such duties as the President requires. These include negotiating with foreign representatives and instructing U.S. embassies or consulates abroad. The Secretary also serves as a principal adviser to the President in the determination of U.S. foreign policy and, in recent decades, has become responsible for overall direction, coordination, and supervision of interdepartmental activities of the U.S. Government overseas, excepting certain military activities.

As the highest-ranking member of the cabinet, the Secretary of State is fourth in line to succeed the Presidency, coming after the Vice President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the President pro tempore of the Senate.

Federal law (3 U.S.C. § 20) provides that a presidential resignation must be accomplished by written communication from the President to the Secretary of State.

If she takes the job it effectively ends any chance of her running for president in 2112. By 2116 she would be nearly 70 and too old. I bet she doesn't take it.

Obama sure is all about Change! He's only picking close friends, people he owes favors to and high ranking party members for poltical positions!

Heck if you're applying for one of the 2000 or so support staff jobs you'll be weeded out based on if you own or anyone in your family owns a gun.

Yes change! Changing from one system where the extremist members of the party force their views on the rest of the nation to a new system where the extremist members of the party force their views on the rest of the nation.

One of Obama's top orders of business is re-instating (and expanding) the expired 1994 Assault Weapons Ban (even though only 1% of gun crimes involve such weapons).

Not fixing healthcare
Not fixing schools
Not repairing America's international image
Not fixing poverty
Not working towards energy independence

Banning the weapons suitable for militia action as "protected" by the second amendment.

The 2nd has nothing to do with protecting your family or hunting, it has to do with military weapons.

But Potentate Obama wouldn't want the people to have any power.

if Hillary becomes the Sec. State, hopefully she will not be excessively distracted by outside drama or personal career plans, etc.
