Chris Dodd gets raked over the coals: Clear Channel censors interview
Senator Chris Dodd got into a heated discussion with Tom Scott from WELI-AM in Connecticut. According to the New Haven Independent:
The interview focused on two controversies that have dogged Dodd recently: He received personal “VIP” loans from Countrywide Financial, a predatory lender he was supposed to be regulating as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee. And he helped craft a $700 billion Wall Street bailout bill designed to spur new small-business and homeowner lending — but which turns out to be designed instead to enable banks to buy other banks.
But the interview was never aired. When Todd Thomas, Clear Channel's regional operations manager (Clear Channel now runs WELI-AM), was asked why the interview didn't air, he said, “That’s something
that happened behind closed doors,” and declined from saying anything else.
But the New Haven Independent got hold of the interview, and you can listen to the excellent interview by clicking here.
UPDATE: We've put together a YouTube video of the interview:

I don't know the nature of the allegations, but the interviewer seemed to be fishing. You can't just make allegations and then demand personal documents in order to prove those allegations.
Should the interview have been spiked? I don't think so, but it wasn't the best example of radio journalism I've heard either.
I have no idea why the on air guy thinks there is mortgage fraud here, for instance.
