(Video) John McCain: "My fellow prisoners"
In an awkward attempt at a joke (or so says Raw Story), John McCain said the following at a campaign stop today:
"You and I together will confront the $10 trillion debt the federal government has run up and balance the federal budget by the end of my term in office," he said. "Across this country, this is the agenda I have set before my fellow prisoners and the same standards of clarity and candor must now be applied to my opponent."
Here's the video (was he trying to make a joke about Americans being debt-prisoners? Or did he just mis-speak?):
Hey, Frank Luntz, did John McCain use the right words?

I can't believe John McCain would even use the words my fellow prisoners - maybe he could get away with my fellow prisoners of debt but not "my fellow prisoners". His joke certainly needed explaining. I didn't get it. I actually find it somewhat scary?!

Its a Freudian slip. What he means is "my hostages".

McCain is an idiot. Palin is as dumb as a paper cup. Obama is a clueless talking head and Biden is an old hack.
God help the United States of America.
