US Ambassador to Canada: Canada has proven to be our "friend in need"
Ambassador David Wilkins answered the questions on US-Canada bilateral relations and this is what he said about this great country:
The United States and Canada have been fast friends and neighbors for generations. We share a long-standing peace and the greatest trade relationship that has ever existed in the history of the world. Canada has proven its friendship on countless occasions -- notably by coming to our aid whenever the U.S. has needed help. From harboring stranded U.S. citizens after the attacks of September 11, 2001 to reaching out immediately with assistance and support to the victims of Hurricane Katrina, Canada has proven to be our "friend in need."

Don't forget Canada's role during the time Iran (May God show it the way) held the US embassy staff hostage. [Also, in 1939 Canada modified its plan to invade the US.]

Modified its plan to invade the US? After a hearty laugh I wondered whose ass you pulled that one out of ?

Thanks Winston, a very interesting read. It went into a lot of issues which are not exactly "above the fold." US-Canada relations are fascinating.

peterj: Try 'defense scheme number 1' on the google. The plan was dropped around 1939 but I can't remember the exact year.

It was before 1939. However, it was a farce from the beginning - never had a chance of success. Meanwhile, the US plan was far more workable.
Thank God - yes, athiest self-worshipping Ontarians - God, for the United States. Without them, Canada is nothing, zilch, nada.

Zeb, I like your attitude. LOL

Winston: Many Canadians, and almost all Ontarians, are so spoiled rotten that they have forgotten where their prosperity comes from. I guess it is natural to think that one's own efforts are key, but without the US economy, Canada would be absolutely destitute. I mean Sudan or Ethiopia level poverty. Did you ever see that South Park episode where Canada goes on strike? That's what it would be like - they'd be all tough and defiant at the start, but they'd be starving within a week, 10 days tops.
I thank God - yes, God - that I am Albertan and have always had the clearheadedness to see the obvious. I also credit the years in which I resided in the US to see how unfairly Canadians treat the US for purely partisan reasons. They, and Ontarians in particular, don't know how good they have it.
Stupefying!

Canada and the United States are the two best countries in the world.

Another Canadian soldier was killed today in Afghanistan. RIP, hero.
Remember how Crouton sent the army to Afghanistan because it was "safer" than Iraq. Well, the situation there has improved dramatically. Meanwhile, Afghanistan has become more dangerous than ever.
I propose to redeploy the army to Iraq because it is safer now. Any takers?

Without America, the whole world would be a much, much worse place. God bless America.

dewp: The US hasn't done much for the world, well, aside from leading the fight against slavery, fascism, communism and terrorism, and trying to improve living standards across the world (however haphazardly.) They certainly did more than the Communists ever did, or the Jihadists ever could.
Here, I dug up a little gem of leftist insanity for all to savor. The "peace" movement things that 9/11 was an inside job. What a thing with which to destroy your credibility.

Zwicker and Hawkins make me sick. I'll never be able to look Mr. Kellogg's K in the eye ever again. The heads of Zwicker and Hawkins must have a lot of pollution between the eyes and the cortex. People like that are the enablers of terrorists. Thanks for that link, Zeb. Hmm. I lived four years in Winnipeg; some idiots live there for sure.

What gets me is that the TV network - amazingly not the CBC - put them on the air. Must have been one very slow news day.
Isn't it funny how those who talk about aliens are dismissed as quacks, but say something bad about President Bush and all of a sudden you're in the mainstream? Tragic. So much for credibility.
