Syed Soharwady, the accused

Another human rights complaint involving Syed Soharwardy – but this time he’s the accused.

After bringing a human rights complaint against Ezra Levant and the Western Standard, Soharwardy and others associated with the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada now face their own AHRC complaint. The complaint against Soharwardy et al contains serious allegations of discrimination and mistreatment directed against three women from the Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Centre.

Ezra broke this story on his blog. I found it reported on LifeSite.

I don't want to sound unsympathetic to the women who bravely stepped forward, but a mosque is a private institution. If you don't like the way you’re treated, find somewhere else to worship. (If you don't like the Western Standard, find something else to read.) The allegations of physical threats and harassment are a different matter entirely. These are real crimes.

I take no pleasure in this madness.

Yes. Take it to the police and file charges if crimes were committed. Sounds like there are grounds for charging them with uttering threats.

I absolutely encourage other Muslim women to step forward and charge these scumbags if they have encountered the same situations at other mosques. Also, if you have been beaten by your husband, step forward and file assault charges against the son of a bitch, get an immediate restraining order, divorce him and take the bastard for all he's worth.

There are laws that can REALLY be used to your advantage in Canada. SO USE THEM!

One more thing. File civil charges against your imams if they have abused you. The Roman Catholic Church paid out millions and millions in civil settlements for similar situations.

The more the merrier, I say. Maybe if this merry-go-round spins on long enough people will wake up to what a farce these tribunals are and either completely overhaul them or close them down altogether.

A comment on the 'kirpan-in-court rooms' issue:

What a ridiculous 'event'! What in the name of the Bhagavad Ghita are the sikhs hoping to achieve by openly and defiantly sharing with the mainstream Canadian public the idiocy of 'carrying' a fake toy sword as religious 'freedom'! Do you people (sikh) really think that bringing a kirpan in a court room will enhance your 'salvation' or make you a better individual? Honestly! What kind of 'religion' forces its adherents to carry 'trinkets' and material 'fluff' in order to be members 'in-good-standing'? O.K., traditional Canadians; it's time to take a stand on all this 'willy-nilly' approach to immigration! ENOUGH is ENOUGH! Keep your personal religious beliefs (all religious beliefs!) out of public life!

I, for one, [retired Social Studies/English/F.S.L. teacher - born in France], refuse to 'pamper' and 'kow-tow' (to) these overly audacious/arrogant 'lobby' groups who don't seem to love their adoptive country at all! I've had up to here with these groups who leave their mother countries only to selfishly ingratiate themselves at the expense of 'true' Canadians! As I ponder the issue further, I realize how superficial these (sikh, muslim) beliefs are! Isn't religion supposed to make the world better? Or; is it just to help a certain group 'conquer' others by their insistant proclamations that 'THEIRS' is the RIGHT WAY? Again: ENOUGH! We must now say: "Canada is GOOD as it stands! It does not NEED any more outsider 'religious input'!

Thanks,

Mike

I agree with you Mike but all this rubbish is the result of multiculturalism. Unless Canada is willing and able to remove it totally, we shall continue down the road to a balkanised country. Many places in Europe (also due to official multiculturalism) are already there with so many no-go areas.

Epsi also makes a valid point, but is it also not a possibility that the decision to take their case to the HRC was in support of the complaints lodged by the Islamists? Of course I do not know one way or the other, but at least it is refreshing to begin to see Muslims who reject Islamofascism come forward. It is far from easy for them, especially being women, so perhaps we can give them some slack on this.

This does not mean I support the HRC one bit, for in my opinion they must be completely dismantled.

Sorry for the bad English in the second paragraph. I meant that they may have decided to take their case to the HRC, seeing how the Islamists were using it to shut down free speech.

Finally ,a creative challenge to CBC's "Little Mosque on the Prairie" writers to turn this incident into a comic masterpiece.
That's an episode I would watch.

That show is a deliberate attempt to pervert Alberta heritage and culture. It exports false values about Alberta to other socialist national broadcorps that buy this sick crap and purvey it in front of their gulible audiences.

According to the Mother Corp. LMOTP is filmed in TO but the setting is supposed to be Saskatchewan.

The glossy taxpayer funded insert describing their exciting new season in my weekend paper a couple of weeks ago showed how creatively bankrupt the CBC truly is.

Something about hockey wives is a direct steal from the BBC's "Footballers Wives"

They're hoping that an afternoon talk show hosted by 2 gay fellows(not that there's anything wrong with that) will boost their ratings.

"Sophie" a supposed"comedy"attempts to cover every Toronto stereotype ever imagined.

"The Border",a serious drama about defending Canada's borders should feature Laibar Singh and how crowds rule over our laws instead of caricaturing Americans for the umpteeth time.

This is our tax dollars hard at work trying to sell us Toronto's version of a Canadian identity.

Hockey Night in Canada and Coronation Street are the only programs worth watching on this pathetic excuse for a national broadcaster.

Mike, I really see no reason why born Canadians can't have their traditions and Sikh immigrants can't have theirs. Let them carry their daggers. Hell, let every responsible citizen carry a dagger. Then if one of them misuses it, he won't be able to do much against everyone else who is ALSO carrying daggers. Honestly, the people who get the creepy-crawlies because they clap eyes on a bit of sharp metal. They must subsist exclusively on take-out food, because it's a foregone conclusion they won't go anywhere NEAR a kitchen.

CBC is trying to sell LMOTP as a "aren't we Canucks a nice PC Multicultural country to any stupid enough to buy it.
What I recently found funny was that the collective creative geniuses of LMOTP had no inkling about the fundamentals of curling on which a recent episode was based.
Where in Canada, or the world for that matter, does the best player on a curling team shoot lead?
Apparently these purveyors of Canadiana believe a game opening button draw rates a team high-five.
CBC cross merchandises their product incestuously, let's see the cast of LMOTP co-host Coach's Corner some saturday night.
