Why I Love "30 Rock"

This post - and clip - from the Huffington Post pretty much sums up why, by far, 30 Rock is the funniest show on televison.

Jack to C.C. (Edie Falco), his Democratic congresswoman squeeze: "I love when women have ambition. It's like a dog wearing clothes."

Jack, responding to C.C. telling him that the orange-tinted kids suing the Sheinhart Wig Company had settled for $5 million: "$5 million? That's NBA sexual assault money,"

Liz to Jenna on how she coddles her wildly: "I have to because you're so insecure you get jealous of babies for their soft skin." Jenna: "And how much attention they get."

Toofer to Frank, wearing long hair and a trucker hat: "I can't keep dressing like you, the New Yorker Festival is next week!" (I love that Toofer got some play here. Kevin Powell is cute.)

Tracy to Shaquille O'Neil in a clip from their animated family film clip: "Is what we did last night considered sex?"

I quite like it, but not the funniest. Office and Earl are better.

Never seen it - never will. I boycott loony Leftoid actors and their "products".

I'd rather watch the Marx Brothers' movies - or even the Three Stooges. :)

Sex in the City, Friends, Frasier, I've watched all these shows a total of 3 1/2 minutes, and they SUCK. This one is no different. I think some people learn their social skills from this crap.

All you have to do is look a little closer, and you'll realize these shows were written by child-hating, gay, alcoholics.

. . . and the actors are little different.

Birds of a feather third rock together.

Ah, and now the blog has lost it's last shred of credibility, what does this post have to do with the Western Standard or politics? Are you trying to advocate to drop the Cancon rule? Or did you just mistake this blog for your own private one?

TV shows aren't real and most are completely irrelevant. Especially the popular ones that promote promiscuity, bad behavior, disrespect for parents and those that never stop throwing shots at the Bush administration.

Popular television and movies today are mind-rot, like bad drugs, cheap rum ... stuff like that.

I agree with OBC the far left leaners of Hollywood don't deserve our support. They are loons and they know nothing about the reality of the Islamic Jihad threat nor do they understand what is behind the climate change fraud.

Yoshi, you should not watch so much TV, get our and get some exercise. How much do you weigh?

I get lots of exercise, and I watch plenty of TV. It is possible to do both.

It's easy to forget it's all fantasy, including a lot of the news we watch. Reality TV, infomercials with fake hosts, news anchors trying to sell their books. It's all a blur of reality.

I was watching Rockford the other night. He jumped into the Firebird to chase someone. When he took off he was driving a 1975 Firebird. When the chase was over, he pulled up in a 1977 Firebird. I was stunned that the director missed this. Even so, it's still just as realistic as any other TV show.

I suspect it took two years to shoot that particular episode. Garner was starting to age by then. :)

nonsense

Garner does not age.

I stopped watching comedies when they stopped being funny.

That was when the last episode of Seinfeld was taped.

The garbage that is on today is not only not funny, it is offensive.

I forgot. When he made that space cowboys film, he uncovered age reversal up there. :)

You are looking for comedy in the wrong places. When they try to be funny they push too hard.

The best place to look for humour is in some of the so-called dramas like "Dexter".

Most comedies (including Seifeld) are only funny for one season. Comedy must be extremely tiring.

Your post is a mirror image. :)

dp,

Perhaps you are correct!

Most of my humor these days is provided by the inane ramblings of the left.

It doesn't seem to matter where you turn these days, it is in your face.
