Ron Paul

Congressman Ron Paul is an odd mix of things -- an anti-war Republican; an economic libertarian who is hostile to any central economic planning, even in terms of monetary policy; and he's running for president.

He's nowhere in traditional opinion polls, but he has a growing indie presence on the Internet -- and at street rallies where most Republicans would fear to tread.

I didn't bother having an opinion on the man until I started seeing the crowd his message seems to attract: 9/11 skeptics who want to make their conspiracy theories bipartisan.

Oh no, Ezra! Now we're going to be flooded by the Ron Paul cultists, telling us that he is the US Messiah.

To me, Ron Paul is a homely old man with some very confusing and conflicting ideas. He will likely appeal to Lefties in a big way. Too bad he isn't vying for the Democratic ticket.

Did I mention he is homely?

Why does the Anti-War Movement allow the 9/11 Truthers to show up? The Truthers represent a massive fraud, and weaken the anti-war movement's credibility. Birds of a feather, I guess.

I suppose it's because if the 9/11 Truthers appeared at the USMC/FDNY parade, they'd be very unwelcome until they ran for their lives.

Michael Medved writes an open letter to Ron Paul:

http://michaelmedved.townhall.com/blog/g/77711671-de32-47da-a721-8f606d586ad0

Dear Congressman Paul:

Your Presidential campaign has drawn the enthusiastic support of an imposing collection of Neo-Nazis, White Supremacists, Holocaust Deniers, 9/11 “Truthers” and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists.

Do you welcome- or repudiate – the support of such factions?

More specifically, your columns have been featured for several years in the American Free Press –a publication of the nation’s leading Holocaust Denier and anti-Semitic agitator, Willis Carto. His book club even recommends works that glorify the Nazi SS, and glowingly describe the “comforts and amenities” provided for inmates of Auschwitz.

Have your columns appeared in the American Free Press with your knowledge and approval?

As a Presidential candidate, will you now disassociate yourself, clearly and publicly, from the poisonous propaganda promoted in such publications?

As a guest on my syndicated radio show, you answered my questions directly and fearlessly.

Will you now answer these pressing questions, and eliminate all associations between your campaign and some of the most loathsome fringe groups in American society?

Along with my listeners (and many of your own supporters), I eagerly await your response.

Respectfully, Michael Medved

Neil Flagg - Have your columns appeared in the American Free Press with your knowledge and approval?

I'm surprised that Medved would even attempt to use that canard. With the exception of staff writers(of which Paul isn't) The American Free Press publish articles from syndicated columnists who have no connection to Carto or any of his organizations.

Carto is a chameleon, appearing at times as a conservative anti-communist and at other times as a neo Nazi.

???? My columns??? Didn't know I had any.

Let me get this straight, O'Reilly - are you saying that, because Carto publishes articles from outside writers, he's not a Jew-hating neo-Nazi? That's a very shallow defense. Some would call it dissimulation.

Neil Flagg - ???? My columns??? Didn't know I had any.

It was Medved asking if Paul approved that his columns had appeared in The American Free Press. Didn't you read what Medved wrote?

Again didn't you read what I wrote above? Carto is a chameleon, appearing at times as a conservative anti-communist and at other times as a neo Nazi.

What is your point about his being a "chameleon"? You can't be a part-time neo-Nazi. If you're 1% neo-Nazi, that's too much for me.

And, if I found out my columns were being run by a neo-Nazi periodical, I would publically renounce said periodical and have my lawyers issue a cease-and-desist...unless I was sympathetic to the publisher, in which case I'd do what Ron Paul is doing - NOTHING.

Unless of course your contract with your distribution service doesn't allow you to limit where it gets sold to.....

But I am sure Ron Paul is secretly supporting the guy, he wants to bring the US / Western World down in flames and sell it wholesale to the muslims.

So Snow Blunder acts like the fool he is on EVERY thread. No surprise there.

A chameleon changes its colour when in different environments, and that is what Carto does. He has started several anti-communist lobby groups / foundations, that make no mention of his neo-nazi connections, with the intent of getting support from a broad cross section of Americans. He has also started groups what were neo-nazi. When a chameleon changes colours its still a chameleon.
