Something's happening here . . .
A US group calling itself Students for Burma is organizing a National Campus Day of Action for Burma scheduled for Oct. 5, this Friday. They've got a sign up sheet here. I don't know at this point if any Canadian campuses are involved.

International Bloggers' Day for Burma on the 4th of October
International bloggers are preparing an action to support the peaceful revolution in Burma. We want to set a sign for freedom and show our sympathy for these people who are fighting their cruel regime without weapons. These Bloggers are planning to refrain from posting to their blogs on October 4 and just put up one Banner then, underlined with the words „Free Burma!“.

This will bring on the warm and fuzzies for some but when something concrete is attempted, like the UN sanctioned end to taliban oppression of Afganis, the reactionary left scream in adolescent rage. This is more posturing than anything else, Meanwhile the Bus loads of Detainees leave Yangon nightly.

Free Burma!
Free Tibet!
Free Cuba!
Bwah ha ha!
Silly fools. Peace protests only work when directed at regimes and countries that have a conscience and feel guilt.
Like the United States and Israel.

Right on H2 and let me add ....
Since these students wasting their time perhaps you should add "free beer" to that list for a better turn out. Student like all things free so put free in front of anything and they will line up.
Re Buma .... can you say China? Until those eaters of dogs and cats get some human rights empathy, nothing good will happen in that part of the world.
