Pope Provokes Muslims, Again
Looks like Pope Benedict XVI could find himself in trouble with Muslims again. This time the Pope is accused of attacking Islamic Nations on their treatment of Christians and Muslims who wish to convert to Christianity. To top it off, the Pope also defended the cause of liberty. Lets have a look at these "controversial" comments,
"The exercise of this freedom also includes the right to change religion, which should be guaranteed not only legally, but also in daily practice."
"Terrorism is a serious problem whose perpetrators often claim to act in God's name and harbour an inexcusable contempt for human life."
Chance of rioting and violence in Islamic nations because of this: Good

Good for the Pope.
Human beings are born with free will ... any parent out there knows you cannot program a child, a fact lost on child-hating socialists.
A brilliant wedge issue, which shows the true nature of Islam, a vile and violent political system of control.

Any country that does not allow freedom to change religion, should be expelled from UN.

This Pope is way better than that last guy. It's refreshing when guys like him are honestly looking out for the West.

The Pope did not provoke, it's just that Muslims are infuriated when anyone speaks the truth about Islam. Look, one silly cartoon can send the Muslim world into a frenzy. How ridiculous is that? Muslims are offended by everything including the existence of infidels. Their true colors are indeed showing and it is not a pretty picture. You feel like telling them to grow up but I guess not, that would be useless, it's been going on for 1400 years. We got lots to look forward to as the population grows in this country. Believe it.

Muslims are inflicted with short fuse syndrome in more ways than one. Truth sets them off, it's very painful for them to hear it.
They're looking for reasons to set off their fuses, send their little boys off with a loaded belt to blow up innocents, continue to indoctrinate hate, it's they're prime reason for "living".
It's becoming less easy for them to separate themselves from what they like to call "moderate Muslims" and radical Islam.
At this time we trust any of them at our peril.
Trust has to be earned, their capital on trust has been spent.

Muslims world wide, extremists nor moderates are doing themselves unrepairable harm, in my opinion. Every time I hear the 'religion of peace' or 'Islam is peace' thing, I laugh. There is a mountain of evidence to support 'tis not'.

Oops! I meant "extremists and moderates" above.

And now the Muslinms are angry at the Israelis (again!) because:
"Israelis seized nuclear material in Syrian raid"
Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem. The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related. They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean.
THE AXIS OF EVIL!! YEAH, George W. is proven right again.

Remember when the US was about to invade Afghanistan and the muzzies yelled: "But it's Ramadan! Our holy month!"
That didn't stop the Arabs from attacking Israel in 1973 on Yom Kippur - or planning a similar attack today, also on Yom Kippur, the Holiest day for Jews:
"Israel thwarts suicide bomb attack in Tel Aviv"
JERUSALEM (al-Reuters) - Israeli police seized an explosive belt that was intended to be used in a Tel Aviv suicide bomb attack on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, a police spokesman said on Saturday.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said police raided an apartment in Israel's commercial capital early on Saturday and arrested four people, including a suspected would-be suicide bomber and an explosive belt he was planning to use.
An army spokeswoman said Palestinian militants arrested during a raid in West Bank city of Nablus earlier this week had been planning the attack. Two militants and an Israeli soldier were killed during the raid.

karol -
One thing that McGuinty and Benedict XVI have in common is they are male human beings. Among their differences is the fact that McGuinty is not Roman Catholic (for sure, it's no crime to dispute the teachings of that Church, but if you dispute the essential teachings and if you give "scandal" to Catholics by falsely claiming to be Catholic, when you in fact are not, the authority of the pope comes into play and he gets to explain to you that you are NOT a Catholic).
A corrollary to that point is the fact that just because Roman Catholics understand that abortion is in fact premeditated murder of an innocent human being, and that they each should clearly explain that understanding when ever it is fairly demanded of them, i.e. in a public discourse or debate, that does not mean that any individual Roman Catholic is responsible for the sins of others, i.e. the abortions performed or advocated by others, or the duly enacted laws of nations which make abortion part of their civil code of laws.
Roman Catholics are not commanded to overthrow legitimate civil governments, but they are commanded to encourage and to teach and to live in a manner consistent with the Truth of their religious beliefs.
Pretty non-threatening stuff.
Only a foolish or unthinking person would allow or advance the notion that such actions are similar to other and completely different and truly tyrannical and evil "religious" entities-enterprises such as Islam.
The pope should be doing a hundred times more of this type of thing. His job description is almost unique in the entire world, it might be summarized along the lines of: "Think deeply about the human condition and teach the Truth to all."

Here's a further update on that Israeli strike into Syria. North Koreans were killed in Syria!!!
"Commandos captured nuclear materials before air raid in Syria"
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Soldiers from an elite Israeli unit captured nuclear material originating in North Korea from a secret Syrian military installation before IAF jets bombed it, a report by Britain's Sunday Times wrote Saturday night, quoting "informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem."
According to the sources quoted by the report, the alleged IAF attack was sanctioned by the US on September 6, after the Americans were given proof that the material was indeed nuclear related.
The sources confirmed that the materials were tested after they were taken from Syria and were found to be of North Korean origin, which raised concerns that Syria may have been trying to come into possession of nuclear arms.
The report said that the commandos, from the legendary General Staff's Reconnaissance Unit (Sayeret Matkal), may have been disguised in Syrian army uniforms. It also stated that Defense Minister Ehud Barak, who used to head the unit, personally oversaw the operation.
Israeli sources admitted that special forces had been accruing intelligence in Syria for several months, the report said, adding that evidence that North Koreans were at the site was presented to President George Bush during the summer.
The report said North Korean and Chinese diplomats believed that North Koreans were also killed in the subsequent "IAF air strike."

Pope Benedict XVI speaks the truth. He is the one leader in the West that speaks about the threat of Islam. He is a student of history and understands the danger of radical Muslims. Most Westerners are asleep as their culture, freedoms and liberties are threatened.

"Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria"
...yeah obc read that and wondered when the howling would begin about how dare Israel upset the sovereignty of another nation.
Didn't even ask if they could fly in and bomb. The nerve!
I loved the part "secret military site". Not too secret now is it
;-)
But one poster over at the times said the world should thank Israel for that.
Indeed, thank you Israel for still having brass balls.

Like they tacitly thanked Menachem Begin for bombing Iraq's nuclear facilities in 1973 (?).

Sorry karol but you are way off base on this one. I am not Catholic but I have no trouble understanding that the pope has an obligation to confirm and to remind members of his faith of the tenets and doctrine of the same. When the Catholic doctrine states clearly that abortion is a most serious sin which cannot be supported, the same church cannot then turn a blind eye to her members who willingly and wilfully support abortion. He is not imposing his beliefs you anyone, and those who disagree are free to leave the faith to join a different one or none at all.
Frankly it is refreshing to find a religious leader to-day who is not a wishy-washy lefty and who seeks to make everyone feel good no matter what his behaviour is.

Sorry karol for I misread your post. Please accept my apology.

My understanding is that if I accept the precepts of the Catholic Church I remain a Catholic in good standing. If the teaching is against abortion and I weasel around that by saying that I must represent all the people of Ontario, I have effectively joined those who approve of abortion. By doing that I must accept that I do not go along with the teachings of the Catholic Church and have effectively excommunicated myself. No Bishops need be involved. Indeed the actual involvement of the Church in an excommunication would seem to me to be quite rare. We are really good at shooting ourselves in the foot.
If Mr.McGuinty wants to represent all Ontarians he should govern by opinion polls as he really stands for nothing.

"This Pope is better than the last one"? This Pope is good but Paul John Paul II contributed significantly to bringing down Communism. He was the best Pope ever.

What?
Ronald Reagan served a term as Pope?
