Sex offender arrested at Vancouver airport

A Prince Edward Island sex offender who is considered a high risk to reoffend was arrested at the Vancouver airport Friday, just hours after his release from prison, the CBC has reported.
Thane Moore, who has called himself a "walking time bomb," was released from Dorchester Penitentiary early Friday after serving his entire sentence in the New Brunswick prison.

Ticking time bomb? Not rehabilitated? Danger to re-offend? Why does the "justice" system keep doing this? They know these sex offenders will commit more crimes and they know that rehabilitating them is a waste of time, so why? Oh wait, because he served his sentence and it would be against his rights to hold him any longer or restrict his freedom. What about his victims rights? Or the publics for that matter?  Yes the RCMP arrested him, but they can't hold him forever. I'm beginning to think that is what we have to do with sex offenders; hold them in prison indefinably.

They should have thrown him off the plane while it was in flight. That way the buzzards can have him.

Why isn't he declared a dangerous offender and given the option of castration or incarceration?
Oh, forgot, he has his rights, Charter says so.

WTF? What is it with British Columbia that the first place sex offenders want to go when they get out of jail is here?

They hear about the judges in BC, Chimera. Since they know they're not rehabilitated and they will reoffend, they want to go where their odds of going to jail are the lowest... Welcome to BC!!

Capital punishment would solve this problem.

Well, philanthropist, maybe the Judges and members of the parole boards deserve it, but it seems a little extreme.

I'm far more worried that the RCMP can arrest anyone at any time for a crime they think that person MAY commit later. This is far more dangerous than any single offender could ever be, no matter how twisted he is.

We can always adopt the "new" British justice standards, which explain the drop in their crime statistics:

"Police tell woman who had bag snatched 'sorry, that's not a crime'"

Evening Standard

A mother who had her bag snatched was told by police it was not a crime - because she chased after the thief and won her property back. Sam McAlister was queueing in a coffee shop with her ten-month-old son when a woman grabbed the bag from the back of the pushchair as an accomplice distracted her. She confronted the thief in a nearby shop and was eventually reunited with her bag after a struggle.

THIS IS HOW Labour has been able to say that crime is falling, by redefining what a crime is (how clintonian). However, the fact that there was a struggle also would indicate a crime of assault in most jurisdictions.

And IMO it was only eventually regarded as a crime because of the bad publicity and for no other reason.

So if a bank is robbed yet the money is returned, there's no crime?
And if a child is kidnapped, and then recovered,no crime??? Wow. The fall of Britain is just ahead - and Islamofascists are drooling at the prospect!

The cops love these guys. It gives them ammunition when it comes to funding, etc. The various police associations thrive on this media coverage. I guarantee that immediately after a big story like this, the associations go on a huge fundraising campaign, mostly aimed at the sexual assault victims in their databases.

Don't listen to the cops. Listen to any candidate that promises to fix this problem by locking these guys up forever.

So OBC, does that remind you of the Svend Robinson case?

DML ~

Of course! But I wish you hadn't brought it up. I just ate!

(I should not have used the phrase "brought it up".)
