Flawed competitions, excessive payments, unnecessary work, and political connections

In a very long post, far too long to reproduce on The Shotgun, I review the Earnscliffe story going back ten years. I refamiliarize myself with the major players, the timeline, the allegations, and the unanswered questions. With the Conservatives initiating an investigation into the polling contracts, this might be of use in the weeks to come.

The title of the piece comes from Warren Kinsella's testimony to the Public Accounts committee. It describes what he thought of the polling contracts handed out by Paul Martin's Ministry of Finance.

Martin's Chief of Staff came directly from Earnscliffe where the joke in Ottawa was and is that he and is wife looked like a same sex couple -Martin and Chretien engaged far too many flunkies
and they actually were involved in determining Government Policy - one of the reasons Stephen Harper is Prime Minister today. Liberal MP's detested the Flunkies particularly Chretien's sidekick Goldenburger. Chretien and Martin virtually destroyed the once Mighty Red Machine. Earnscliff just drove off the Cliff - have virtually no credibility left -Jeez now they are
focused on Citoyen De Yawn - who will find if one mixes Red and Green one gets Blue ! MacLeod

Good one Jack, learned in early grade school, mix red and green water colors and it comes up with blue!!
Shades of things to come.

Corrupt Liberals stealing money from Canadians in staggering proportions defined their last regime, for their next act the Liberals have teamed up with the Greens to throw 450,000 Canadians out of work. Who in their right mind says they will vote for these people?

New Brunswick elected a Liberal government recently
which many Citizens realize was an enormous error in judgement. New Premier has a number of Martin flunkies in his employ, and his ship is listing already. Liberal fundraisers (bagmen) here are very concerned about their activities ending up with their appearances in a Canadian Court of Ordinary Criminal Jurisdiction. Earnscliff gained far too much political clout without paying their dues as Party Members and duly elected MP's which is much resented in all Liberal Party Circles -Flunkies advised Dion to make his deal with May, but failed to consider the Central Nova Riding
logistics which to my knowledge, going back to 1966 has always elected a Tory MP including Brian Mulroney. May will be lucky not to loose her Deposit - MacLeod

Sure as hell hope they end up in a Court, maybe then the people will get the message to quit voting for corruption, it's serious. What's in the water in that part of the Country?

Earnscliffe advertises that they are into "Enduring Relationships" which to me means as long as a Client can endure their nonsense - they allege to peddle influence, but the Big Airframe and Aero Engine
companies we have worked with over the past forty some years always avoid these politically "motivated" organizations, preferring to deal directly with Government Ministers and Senior Bureaucrats. The Harper Government has an opportunity to change the face of doing business
with the Government of Canada, which is long overdue. The Maritime Helicopter Program is running about eight years behind schedule because
of "influence peddlers" which should be subject to due diligence by the PMO and MND - MacLeod

Boy Jack and Liz the bathwater must taste great since you both drink so much of it!!!!

Jeez, that's not the same French (Argot) the Acadians more or less speak here in New Brunswick
-but I doubt if any could write more than two consecutive lines of "French" - Jobs in Government in NB are restricted to those who are "bi-lingual"
Students at U of Moncton could not idetify the career of Colonel Robert Monckton British Army and friend of Wolfe the Dauntless Hero - who deported the Acadians - should have got the order of Canada
maybe it's not too late. MacLeod

The problem is not in the water . Even in a ' distinct society ' , isolation and inbreeding eventually wreaks havoc with the gene pool .

With reference to Liz`s posting , not WCJ`s !

Hey Jack MacLeod!

What an enlightened and erudite fellow you seem to be but someone should explain to you about what the Butcher of Culloden's henchmen did to your ancestors in the old country and how easier life was for some others here on this side of the Atlantic when British citizens, by trickery and greed, were disposessed and deported by their own ruler.

Small bitter and spiteful men get the lives they deserve and I sincerely wish the same for you.

Posted by: Jean LeBlanc | 2007-04-16 7:33:58 AM

Well John White you are referring to the Duke of Cumberland -Wolfe and Monckton, plus Townshend and Murray who conquered French Canada were at Culloden Moor -the MacLeods were on their side, and are from Ulster - not Scotland - There are about nine million LeBlancs in the Picture Province - none worth talking to - MacLeod

Ah, sweet irony - or - Pot: hey kettle, you're black!

Jack MacLeod,

Then I see you come from the same barbaric cowardly stock which would rather throw in with the bully then think of any higher principle like the common good or the welfare of mankind.

People like you pollute political discourse and make it difficult to explain that you're not a Conservative but simply an embarrasing anachronism whose fate is sealed.

Be careful however about picking a fight today. You may find yourself in the role of the beaten and defeated which would poetic justice for the formentor of such tripe and manure.

Une Acadie renouvelée saura ce défendre aujourd'hui de bourreaux pathétiques.

you're kidding right? thanks for a good mid morning laugh - have to go back to reading the world's shortest Book - "Acadian War Heros" - Macleod,
how does one say, asshole, in Argot?

Living in the past, you two?

Harper's government is and will be no different. Look Fortier handing a $400 million contract to an ex-client from his Credit Suisse days - still alleged, for sure - but even the presence of Fortier as an unelected cabinet minister - in charge of Public Works - hiring a separtist to investigate the Liberals... I don't know what's going on in Ottawa these days. Harper is disappointing.

Jack Macleod

For someone attempting pithy remarks about the ability of Université de Moncton students to express themselves in French you seem to be a little challenged in the English vocabulary department.

Oh! and to quote "LePolitico" earlier,
Pot: hey kettle, you're black!

Enjoy your delusions!

Chris Ralph,
It was the BLOC that have put the Libs into to hole they digged. The Cons are in Power today because of questions constantly raised by the Separatists. Harper do remember and none are better than "Duceppe and the gang" to associate the Federal with doubtfull activities.

HUH?

I must express my concern about what's going on with this thread.

Steve Janke sets a perfect table for some good old "them lying, thieving bastards" talk and no one is feeding.

I wonder if even hardcore conservatives are just about sated from picking over what's left of the old corrupt LPC carcus, then dining daily on brand new courses of ineptitude from the new regime.

After all....this pathetic lot, head waitered by a stunned Dion, has been offering up a whole new feast of controversy every single week.

Keep in mind,we have yet to finish working our way through all the dirty little secrets that have been hidden at the back of the fridge.

Can I offer anyone a Tums?

From this morning's Ottawa Sun:

When Stephan Dion promised us more female candidates in the next election, who knew he wasn’t limiting them to his own Liberal Party? Maybe he would let us know which Conservative women candidates he will now endorse as well!

Steve - you appear to have annoyed Barrister and Author Warren Kinsella -why would you want to do that? -thanks to Marc for his observation that it was the BLOC that put the Libs into the hole "they digged" - Libs are good at digging holes, but they do better with ditches - Cheers, Macleod

this may sound strange, but i love the way you guys fight. its cdn. and we fight with words and
committment from our history. but that what makes a true democracy, and one of the few in the world.
my family comes from a fascinating 48 highlander history, which is actually kent england stock. our history is full of interesting stories, of many views, all related actually. we fight and throw insults, yet we pull together, and fight and die together many times , whether it be the boer war, ww1 or ww2 or korea or now. i remember in vietnam in the cdn company, which was half quebec young men throwing insults and getting drunk and being cdn.. and yes young men from quebec fight hard and are true warriors, even if people in quebec dont want to regonize there bravery, past and present

John a, one of the rare true Canadian we can find on that blog.

By the way people, Quebecers and franco Canadians arent afraid to die, they just dont like to kill others without a good and solid explaination. Do an honest reading of Canadian history again and you will maybe understand why...

Speaking of Quebecers dying: there's a teacher, Mme Jocelyne Couture-Nowak, who was killed @ Virginia Tech yesterday. May her rest be peacefull and my toughts goes to her familly down here.

Are some more equal than others?
