Canada goes tough on Iran, stands with allies
Additional sanctions on Iran are approved by the Canadian government and will be implemented as well.
In the meantime, Canada stands with the United Kingdom, demanding the immediate release of British hostages held illegally by the Iranian regime.
The British personnel were engaged in legitimate and routine boarding operations of merchant shipping in Iraqi territorial waters in support of the Government of Iraq. Canadian naval ships have conducted the same type of operations in this area under the same mandate.
This is a very unusual but fine statement from the Canadian government and clearly showing us that Canada is somehow supportive of the coalition forces efforts in Iraq and if this is the case then PM Harper has done us all proud again.

Coalesce and crush Iran's idiots, then pressure the hell out of China. Easier said than done in this love-your-neighbour western world.

The scum in Iran is pushing it. There likely will soon finally be a much needed war with these thugs.
It's only a matter of time before Israel is forced to take them out anyway. Or face certain annihilation.
One more thing, why didn't those Brits fight for their freedom before they were taken and arrested. How the hell do you just go up to a troop of armed forces and arrest them? I thought Britain had an armed, trained military doing the work in that dangerous place. This is a really bad joke.
The troops are sent out in the field, but the war is micro managed by the shiny heads at the home offices. What has the West come too. No balls left at all.
Lord help us all.

Tony Blair has been badly bruised by his own countrymen ( the Jack Layton types of England) for taking out Saddam in the Iraq war.
A lame duck about to leave office, his threats ring hollow and the Iranians know it.
Margaret Thatcher would have the Iranians thoroughly spanked by now.
What a shame the Brits have become door mats to a nation that threatens its neighbours (Israel) with annihilation.
Thankfully Canada is at least showing signs of backbone in this era of rogue nations becoming serious nuclear threats.

Revolutionary Guards appear to be the Real Government of Iran and appear according to British, French and Russian Media to be a "State Within A State" similar to the German SS during the Nazi Regime. The Guards have control of many, many Iranian Businesses and Financial Facilities, certainly do not owe any allegiance to the Irainian
Government and ignore the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at this moment they appear to be out of control. Canada could annoy the Government of Iran by announcing huge financial investments into the State of Israel something we have advocated for some time. MacLeod

Brits reaction is an invitation to more abductions.

When they close the door to Iranian immigration I'll take their actions seriously...until them it's just so much Liberal-esque hollow symbolism.

Iran has to be dealt with more forcefully, they could care less about diplomacy, know nothing about it.
Pretty please and a few sanctions won't work with the bastards in charge of that excuse for a civilized country.
We absolutely should not allow any more immigrants or refugees, real or bogus, it's hard to discern when trust is lost.

What is really sad is that the EU, Britain's 'supposed' allies, flatly refuse to help by placing sanctions on Iran. With friends like that, who needs enemies?
Furthermore, a naval blockade to the Straits of Hormuz could easily and effectively shut Iran completely down economically in a matter of days. So what is NATO, USA, or HM's Royal Navy doing about that?,,,,,they can unilaterally accomplish that move in about an hour and a half. On another site, it was mentioned that one tiny little Tomahawk cruise missle lobbed into the gas refineries could also do a major amount of damage to the already fragile ecomomy of the country.
It's time tony and Co. find their 'nads' and spank iran good and proper before they begin to look more foolish than they already do
