Remember
It's not on the front page of any newspaper on my desk this morning. It's not in the entire Toronto-area Metro commuter paper. It's not on Google News's front page. But in case it slipped your mind, today is Holocaust Remembrance Day.As the world becomes more violent, we see many of the same patterns emerging as had done during the 30's, leading up to WWII. Poverty, discontent - all caused by the Jews, so they say. Only this time, "they" are not the Germans. They are Iran, Turkey, Iraq, the Palestinians, Saudi Arabia, and Muslims the world over. Everything is the fault of the Jews. And if you didn't know that, it's because the Jews control the media, the banks, the markets, history, and the government. Don't you see? It's a vast Zionist conspiracy to rule the world!
For those of us with our feet firmly planted on this planet, we know what the above sentiments can lead to. We know it can happen again, and it scares many of us into submission. But submission isn't going to help anyone. Turning a blind eye - like Europe, America, Britain under Chamberlain, and the Vatican did in the years leading up to the extermination of 6 million Jews - is likely to bring an end to civilization as we know it.
So unless you want your daughters in burkhas and your sons fighting Jihad, it's time to learn the lessons of the past, and open your eyes.

Fear helps bring the police state a little closer to home. What are you willingly give up for freedom?
Right now in the US the Patriot Act says that if you break the laws of the US you can be charged as a terrorist, this is at the discretion of the prosecutor. That means no lawyer; you don’t have the right to face your accuser or the evidence against you. Is this what our fathers fought for or did they fight against it?
Fear has been used through out the years as a way of getting people that would otherwise vote against such laws to accept them.
Yes years ago a war was started by a government that didn’t have all the people on their side so what did they do? They attacked and burnt down The Reichstag blaming it on the communists so they attacked all in their country then moved into others in the hope that they would punish the communists. But who paid the price?
So here we have someone spreading hate towards Muslims, for the attacks on 9/11, and we chase them down in our country and into others locking them up without a trial, or any rights, we do this with out a shred of proof that they had anything to do with the attack.
Repeating history, maybe.

First, the Nazis did not start the Reichstag fire - that really was the action of a young Dutch communist. However, Hitler used it to pointing out the Communist threat and end democracy.
Bush's America is NOT like the nazis in any way, shape, or form except to the extreme left whose insanity is totally obvious. The Patriot Act is a temporary measure, requiring periodic renewal by Congress. Moreover, democratic elections still occur. The only real misuse of 9/11 was as a casus belli during the Iraq War. American democracy, still one of the best in the world, continues to prosper.

The BBC during the 30’s was supporting Chamberlain and calling Churchill a fat drunken liar. The BBC in my opinion is responsible for a lot of lives that could have been saved had they not been such Marxist, totalitarian, appeasers.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the Post editorial yesterday say that we were at War with more than the Taliban and they actually named the enemy: Islamofascists. To name the enemy is an important start.
There is a lot to be thankful for in this developing War on Islamofascism. Our leaders are starting to frame the discussion in a more precise and less politically correct way; e.g. the flag issue. I hope Harper picks his spot someday in Parliament and asks the appeasing cowardly left: Are you for fascism or against it? That is what any debate about this boils down to IMHO and it is the left that deserves the historical guilt of fascism.
I think the insurgents in Iraq have lost. Iran knows that. Hence the new push by the Mullahs to get Bush to overreact and attack and cause the whole democracy thrust in the ME home of Islamofascists to backfire. Bush has more patience and brains than he’ll ever get credit for, he’s been “mis-underestimed”. Harper has been way underestimated too, that’s why I’m currently more hopeful about freedom than in all my baby boomer years.

So if the BBC are "Marxist, totalitarian appeasers" for supporting Chamberlain, does that make Chamberlain, Lord Halifax, the Duke of Windsor and the Conservatives of 1930s Britain Marxists as well?
Maybe we could throttle back on the ill-considered, overblown rhetoric just a *tad*...

"It's not on the front page of any newspaper on my desk this morning. It's not in the entire Toronto-area Metro commuter paper. It's not on Google News's front page. But in case it slipped your mind, today is Holocaust Remembrance Day."
You seem to imply that the media is ignoring HRD, but that is misleading. It is not a Canadian event, nor is it an international one. In fact, it is only an official day of remembrance in Israel today. Every year on the 27th of Nissan.
England and Germany both also have memorial days, but theirs are on January 27th every year. Italy and Poland have memorial days, but I'm not sure when theirs are.
Now, you could suggest that Canada should have a HRD of its own and you could suggest that we have it on the 27th of Nissan (which, because the Jewish and standard calendars do not match, changes date on our calendar each year). But to suggest that the media is ignoring a day that already is a memorial day is silly.
If you want to lay the blame on anyone, how about blaming our Prime Minister and his government for not declaring a HMD in Canada? I bet if they did it would be on all of the front pages.
One more thing: be sure to check the papers tomorrow. I would not be surprised if they all have coverage of how Israel marked the day. The event ain't news until after it happens.

Two counties in Florida have terminated their use of Diebold computerized voting equipment after computer experts showed that vote totals could be changed by a single individual in a way that would be undetectable later.
The county commission of Leon County, which includes Tallahassee, voted on Dec. 13 to scrap its Diebold equipment and switch to a different manufacturer, at an estimated cost of $1.3 million. Three days later, the county council of Volusia County (Daytona Beach) approved a similar change. The switch will cost that jurisdiction at least $2.5 million, county officials said.
These actions, and the events that led up to them, can teach us a great deal about our dependence on computer procedures that are developed by flawed human beings.
Diebold, based in North Canton, Ohio, will not comment specifically on the rejection of its equipment by Leon County. But the manufacturer has sent a letter to county officials saying their testing was "a very foolish and irresponsible act" and may have violated the company's licensing agreements, according to a Dec. 15 Associated Press
California now has these machines through out the state, guess who's gonna win the next presidential election, Arnold.
Do you think Bush was joking when he said that "its easier to get things done if your a dictator"?

Why should we bother lamenting the past horrors of that small, highly advanced civilized nation of Jews?
These people, while under continued assault from much of the rest of the planet still achieved 150 Nobel prizes in all disciplines. (compare to Muslim world total of 8)
If all that the Jews have contributed to this world was taken away, we would be living in a vastly poorer and underdeveloped world.
We should all have more of the values of the Jewish people who aspire to higher education, achievement and incredible self-reliance.
They are the single biggest victims of envy that the world has ever known. The USA is running a close second though.
I say to Isreal and Jews everwhere, be strong and persevere. You may have the vicious envy of many, but also the admiration of many as well.
Posted by: Duke | 2006-04-25 10:16:35 AM
Good points Duke. I think it’s an interesting paradox that because the Jews where shunned by the establishment that they had to cleverly adapt outside the establishment and hence you got Shakespeare’s The Merchant of Venice syndrome with all its controversy.
On the other hand, the classic Ontario WASPs have had it so good that we have become lethargic about what it takes to maintain freedom. Hopefully, the CPC will continue to embrace enough enterprising immigrants who combined with the can-do attitude of the entrepreneurial West will re-energize Canada to its full potential. We need to turn this big, bureaucratic, politically correct, Liberal juggernaut around. I think we can and we will.

Report 1.11: US Troops Charged with Massacre of Afghan Prisoners
ICCPR articles: 1, 2, 6, 7, 9, 14, 16, 17, and 20
US soldiers and their allies, the Afghan Northern Alliance, had a role in “disappearing”
around 3,000 men in northwest Afghanistan after the fall of the
Taliban, according to witnesses.26
After intense fighting against the Taliban in Kunduz, Northern Alliance
troops took control of the city and accepted the surrender of about 8,000 Taliban
fighters that included al Qaeda, Chechens, Uzbeks, and Pakistanis.
Almost 500 suspected al Qaeda members were taken to the Qalai Jangi prison
while the remaining 7,500 were loaded in containers and transported to the
Qala-I-Zeini fortress. Human rights advocates say that close to 5,000 of the
original 8,000 are missing.27 Two-hundred to three-hundred prisoners were
forced into containers for a two-to-three day convoy. “The prisoners were crammed at gunpoint into large, oblong freight containers. When no more could be squeezed in, the metal doors were shut tight. Slowly they began to suffocate.”28
“When the trucks arrived and soldiers opened the containers, most of
the men inside were dead. Witnesses also said that US Special Forces
directed that the containers carrying the living and dead be taken into the
desert, and they stood by while the survivors were shot and buried.”29
Jamie Doran, a veteran BBC filmmaker, included eyewitness accounts of
this human rights disaster in his documentary film, Afghan Massacre: The
Convoy of Death. A local taxi driver said he smelled something awful when he
stopped at a gas station. When he asked the petrol attendant where the smell
was coming from, the attendant said “Look behind you.” “There were trucks
with containers fixed on them. . . . Blood was leaking from the containers.”
Two civilian drivers said they drove trucks carrying men to Dasht-e-Laile,
near Shebargan, where the prisoners were shot. A driver told Doran that
there were US soldiers present at Dasht-e-Laile. “How many Americans
were with you?” Doran asked. The driver replied, “Thirty or forty.”
An Afghan soldier claimed that he saw a US soldier break one prisoner’s
neck and pour acid on others. “The Americans did whatever they wanted.
We had no power to stop them.” At least two of the witnesses who appeared
in Afghan Massacre were killed after the film’s release.30
Physicians for Human Rights (PHR) personnel attached to the United
Nations Assistance Mission for Afghanistan (UNAMA) investigated mass
gravesites in Afghanistan. In May 2002, at the Dasht-e-Laile gravesite, PHR
personnel dug a test trench that revealed the remains of fifteen people. Three
bodies were exhumed and autopsied. The likely cause of death was determined
to be suffocation.31
In March 2004, three British citizens who had been imprisoned for two
years at Guantanamo Bay were released. One of the three, Asif Iqbal, had
been one of the few survivors of the convoy of containers. He described the
cramming of prisoners into containers by night, and said that spotlights were
operated by American Special Forces.32

So you guys support mass murder of tied up prisoners, very sad people.
This is what are troops are helping with.
Check out the UN site, type in prisoner abuse and you'll see hundreds of murders by US troops of prisoners. I'm not talking about in the past either.

Posted by: ed | 2006-04-25 10:56:03 AM
I typed in "prisoner abuse" but no results came up.
All this attention over one regrettable incident over which US forces may or may not have had control over. These things do happen. If anyone should be held accountable, it should be the United Front who locked them into those containers.
Some of this "evidence" needs corroboration.
"A driver told Doran that there were US soldiers present at Dasht-e-Laile. “How many Americans
were with you?” Doran asked. The driver replied, “Thirty or forty.”"
Are we supposed to accept this at face-value - second hand, uncertain as to the number of US troops, from "a driver."
An Afghan soldier claimed that he saw a US soldier break one prisoner’s neck and pour acid on others. “The Americans did whatever they wanted.
We had no power to stop them.” At least two of the witnesses who appeared in Afghan Massacre were killed after the film’s release.30
"pour acid"? Give me a break! How would he get access to it out there? I can't imagine US troops carrying vials of acid with them into combat for safety reasons. Also, how does the Afghan know it was acid?
Also, it seems plausible that the Afghans used US troops to cover up their own activities.
Conclusion: much of the evidence presented here is unreliable.
Nice conspiracy theory, ed. No worries, as no one will ever face justice for these actions. The United States is immune to international law because it IS international law.

EXPERTS CLAIM OFFICIAL 9/11 STORY IS A HOAX
Scholars for 9/11 Truth call for verification and publication by an international consortium.
Duluth, MN (PRWEB) January 30, 2006 -- A group of distinguished experts and scholars, including Robert M. Bowman, James H. Fetzer, Wayne Madsen, John McMurtry, Morgan Reynolds, and Andreas von Buelow, Plus hundreds of others, have concluded that senior government officials have covered up crucial facts about what really happened on 9/11.
They have joined with others in common cause as members of "Scholars for 9/11 Truth" (S9/11T), because they are convinced, based on their own research, that the administration has been deceiving the nation about critical events in New York and Washington, D.C.
These experts suggest these events may have been orchestrated by elements within the administration to manipulate Americans into supporting policies at home and abroad they would never have condoned absent "another Pearl Harbor."
They believe that this White House is incapable of investigating itself and hope the possibility that Congress might hold an unaccountable administration accountable is not merely naive or wishful thinking.
They are encouraging news services around the world to secure scientific advice by taking advantage of university resources to verify or to falsify their discoveries. Extraordinary situations, they believe, require extraordinary measures.
If this were done, they contend, one of the great hoaxes of history would stand naked before the eyes of the world and its perpetrators would be clearly exposed, which may be the only hope for saving this nation from ever greater abuse.
They hope this might include The New York Times, which, in their opinion, has repeatedly failed to exercise the leadership expected from our nation's newspaper of record by a series of inexplicable lapses. It has failed to vigorously investigate tainted elections, lies leading to the war in Iraq, or illegal NSA spying on the American people, major unconstitutional events. In their view, The Times might compensate for its loss of stature by helping to reveal the truth about one of the great turning-point events of modern history.
Stunning as it may be to acknowledge, they observe, the government has brought but one indictment against anyone and, to the best of their knowledge, has not even reprimanded anyone for incompetence or dereliction of duty. The official conspiracy theory--that nineteen Arab hijackers under control of one man in the wilds of Afghanistan brought this about--is unsupportable by the evidential data, which they have studied. They even believe there are good reasons for suspecting that video tapes officially attributed to Osama bin Laden are not genuine.
They have found the government's own investigation to be severely flawed. The 9/11 Commission, designated to investigate the attack, was directed by Philip Zelikow, part of the Bush transition team in the NSA sector and the co-author of a book with Condoleezza Rice. A Bush supporter and director of national security affairs, he could hardly be expected to conduct an objective and impartial investigation.
They have discovered that The 9/11 Commission Report is replete with omissions, distortions, and factual errors, which David Ray Griffin has documented in his book, The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions. The official report, for example, entirely ignores the collapse of WTC7, a 47-story building, which was hit by no airplanes, was only damaged by a few small fires, and fell seven hours after the attack.
Here are some of the kinds of considerations that these experts and scholars find profoundly troubling:
# In the history of structural engineering, steel-frame high-rise buildings have never been brought down due to fires either before or since 9/11, so how can fires have brought down three in one day? How is this possible?
# The BBC has reported that at least five of the nineteen alleged "hijackers" have turned up alive and well living in Saudi Arabia, yet according to the FBI, they were among those killed in the attacks. How is this possible?
# Frank DeMartini, a project manager for the WTC, said the buildings were designed with load redistribution capabilities to withstand the impact of airliners, whose effects would be like "puncturing mosquito netting with a pencil." Yet they completely collapsed. How is this possible?
# Since the melting point of steel is about 2,700°F, the temperature of jet fuel fires does not exceed 1,800°F under optimal conditions, and UL certified the steel used to 2,000°F for six hours, the buildings cannot have collapsed due to heat from the fires. How is this possible?
# Flight 77, which allegedly hit the building, left the radar screen in the vicinity of the Ohio/Kentucky border, only to "reappear" in very close proximity to the Pentagon shortly before impact. How is this possible?
# Foreign "terrorists" who were clever enough to coordinate hijacking four commercial airliners seemingly did not know that the least damage to the Pentagon would be done by hitting its west wing. How is this possible?
# Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta, in an underground bunker at the White House, watched Vice President Cheney castigate a young officer for asking, as the plane drew closer and closer to the Pentagon, "Do the orders still stand?" The order cannot have been to shoot it down, but must have been the opposite. How is this possible?
# A former Inspector General for the Air Force has observed that Flight 93, which allegedly crashed in Pennsylvania, should have left debris scattered over an area less than the size of a city block; but it is scattered over an area of about eight square miles. How is this possible?
# A tape recording of interviews with air traffic controllers on duty on 9/11 was deliberately crushed, cut into very small pieces, and distributed in assorted places to insure its total destruction. How is this possible?
# The Pentagon conducted a training exercise called "MASCAL" simulating the crash of a Boeing 757 into the building on 24 October 2000, and yet Condoleezza Rice, among others, has repeatedly asserted that "no one ever imagined" a domestic airplane could be used as a weapon. How is this possible?
Their own physics research has established that only controlled demolitions are consistent with the near-gravity speed of fall and virtually symmetrical collapse of all three of the WTC buildings. While turning concrete into very fine dust, they fell straight-down into their own footprints.
These experts and scholars have found themselves obliged to conclude that the 9/11 atrocity represents an instance of the approach--which has been identified by Karl Rove, the President's closest adviser--of "creating our own reality."
Posted by: ed | 2006-04-25 11:55:46 AM
ed: batteries are a precious commodity on the battlefield, for things like radios, night-vision goggles, powered sights, flashlights. No soldier would waste even one by opening it up and spilling the acid on to another human being.

Ed. You are misinformed. If Diebold's database does indeed store totals that are editable, then that is important to know. If, when, and by whom they were edited is irrelevant. It is not a reason to scrap the entire system at a multi-million dollar price tag. As long as you know it is possible to change the totals, then you simply know that you cannot rely on those totals unless they were just recalculated. Whenever you need totals, just recalculate first and you know the data is correct. Any tinkering will have been lost.
I don't mind correcting trolls in case someone else is interested in the answer.
I like being informed/reminded about Isreal's holocost rememberance day. It is important to remember. Perhaps this is more important that several other special days that have been recognized by our government. It seems like every day is a special day for some reason or another.

One fascinating aspect of 9/11 is that the official story involves collaboration between some nineteen persons in order to bring about illegal ends and thus obviously qualifies as a "conspiracy theory". When critics of the government offer an alternative account that implicates key figures of the government in 9/11, which obviously qualifies as a "conspiracy theory", too. But what matters now is that we are confronted by alternative accounts of what happened on 9/11, both of which qualify as "conspiracy theories". It is therefore no longer rational to dismiss one of them as a "conspiracy theory" in favor of the other
Some think that some beginner pilots flew large jets into buildings. We could ask seasoned pilots if this is possible, to learn to fly commercial jets in a few lessons on Cessna’s. Then they would have to gain access to the buildings to plant the explosives.
The other is that a small group inside the government got together and carried out the plan to steal the election, to unite the country after, they planned the attack so they could implement their plans to gain control of the world’s oil. They controlled the Media and the Armed Forces they had the CIA to help keep it secret. They knew when building 7 was coming down, the explosives were planted in advance.
The question becomes, which of two "conspiracy theories" is more defensible?
Posted by: ed | 2006-04-25 2:47:21 PM
Neither.

We all know the official story of September 11th: four jetliners were hijacked by groups of four and five Arabic men armed with box cutters, who proceeded to fly three of the four jets into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. Subsequently the World Trade Center Towers, weakened by the impacts and fires, collapsed into piles of rubble. Later in the afternoon 47-story Building 7, also weakened by fire, collapsed (a fact that most people remain unaware of). The FBI had compiled a list of hijackers within three days, and it was so obvious that Osama bin Laden had masterminded the operation from caves in Afghanistan, that there was no need to seriously investigate the crime or produce evidence. The "retaliatory" attack on the Taliban would soon commence.
Is this story true? Its central assumptions have never been tested by an official government body whose members lack obvious conflicts of interest. There are numerous red flags in the official story, which requires a long series of highly improbable coincidences. Questioning that story is an act of responsible citizenship.
Not by some here. But we can see by the intelligence put into some peoples postings, that some here live in a hole. They take for the Gospel what ever falls down their hole. Not a real thought of their own, just what someone tells them to think.

Mr. Harper remembers (I am so glad he is our prime minister)
Harper singles out Hamas, Iran in Holocaust speech
OTTAWA (CP) - Canada won't ignore threats from Iran and the Hamas-led Palestinian government against Israel, warns Prime Minister Stephen Harper.
Harper made the pledge Tuesday as he spoke at a Parliament Hill ceremony in remembrance of victims of the Holocaust.
The prime minister said the world should never again stand by and ignore signs of trouble when they appear.
"We will not ignore them when they are done by Hamas. We will not ignore them when they are from the government of Iran," Harper told several hundred people beneath the Peace Tower.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has made repeated threats against Israel. As recently as Monday, he said Israel was a "fake regime" that "cannot logically continue to live."
Hamas, which defeated the more moderate Fatah party in January's Palestinian elections, continues to support violence against Israel.
Hamas has also outright rejected the presence of a Jewish state in the Middle East, and - despite an international outcry - has refused to accept interim Palestinian-Israeli peace accords.
Harper says ignoring such threats could place the world on a path to repeat atrocities such as the Holocaust.
"We have learned the lessons of the past," Harper said. "We will learn them, or we will be doomed to repeat them."

Election Hacking - Clinton Curtis Testimony Ohio 2004

Well known critic and political commentator Mark Crispin Miller argues that it wasn't moral values that swung the election-it was theft. While the greatest body of evidence comes from the key state of Ohio-where the Democratic staff of the House Judiciary Committee found an extraordinary onslaught of Republican-engineered vote suppression, election-day irregularities, old-fashioned intimidation tactics, and illegal counting procedures-similar practices (and occasionally worse ones) were applied in Florida, Oregon, Pennsylvania, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona, and even New York. This pattern-not one overwhelming fraud but thousands of little ones-is, in Miller's view, the new Republican electoral strategy.

So, Ed you think that the guys who were on the planes weren't who the FBI, State Department, and CIA say they were?
What a simple task to simply produce them and show on al Jezeera along side of the Nick Berg decapitation as a justification and say, "Bush is Lying."
So show me MOHAMED ATTA and let's get it over with.
Or, maybe you could just stop typing.

I think, for Christians, on Holocaust Rememberance Day we should think about the total goal of Operation Barbarosa: The entire liquidation of about 500 million people, of which the Jews were simply TOP PRIORITY.
While the Shoah was just the most rescent successful dress rehearsal for Satan's final eradication of God's chosen people, remember the tattoos, we should read the Revelation to John, which is the last book of the Bible, to remember that when the Destroyer brings down the final curtain, there will only be 144,000 Jews left.
(0 ZERO athiests) remember the MARK will be in the hand or the head for all, and they will worship the Beast.
Sorry folks, thats the prophesy. The only question is: will it be a barcode or an injected chip implant?

Technology gets under clubbers' skin
Clubbers who want to join the scheme at Baja Beach Club in Barcelona pay 125 euros (about US $150) for the VeriChip -- about the size of a grain of rice -- to be implanted in their body.
They've been putting chips in people for years now, they even control what people think. You can see from the people here they must be a part of the control operation. Big brother says this is what you will think and they all fall in line.

Well I figured that mind control would enter into ed's repetoire somehow. Perhaps it was optimistic to think that it would be in jest, not serious.
Conspiracy theories, like the ones ed has been spouting about 9/11 are disrespectful to those who died in that tragedy, and those who survived them.

Please! Please! Don't feed the troll.

Maybe there is a mind-control conspiracy.
Quick, what should I say now?

I recall alot of people didn't believe that movie theaters put subliminal messages on the screen to increase sales either.
Talk about being gullible.
Lets see now some people rig elections and you don't believe it. The rest of the world knows it was an inside job on 9/11 but you don't believe.
I'll bet that some of the lemmings at the back of the herd don't believe that the end is coming either.
They've got weapons now that don't kill they just make you want to puke, stopping your advance, police forces use them and only they can buy them.
LOL
