Paul Martin's "Dean scream"
I just received a note that Paul Martin went "bonkers" at a speech in Brampton today: "hoarse, shouting, chanting Belinda Stronach's name, shouting back and forth with some wacko supporter in the audience."
I'll keep my eyes peeled for a TV clip of this -- if anyone finds it first, feel free to post it in the comments thread.
I'm sure our home-made video bloggers will turn it into an appropriate clip!

Another Liebral slam on veterans, but at least he said 'sir'.
Liebral Don Lindsay of eastern Ontario (surprise, surprise) was asked by a WWII veteran about the proposed handgun ban: "If the handgun ban goes forward. What plan would your party offer to compensate those of us who legally own the guns that would be confiscated?"
The Liebral scum replied "Sir America is our neighbor not our nation, if you elect a society that talks about that kind of perspective I suggest that perhaps you go there!"
What is it with these Ontarians? They have no respect at all for anyone who doesn't fit into their political needs, yet accuses their opponents have having no respect for the country. It's like the time a Liebral MP criticized sending a military honor guard to Europe after the remains of a WWII soldier were found in Holland. He said "Well, he can't weight too much". Such disrespect.
Can't wait to see them start to lose big the day after tomorrow.

Ezra,
You'll find it on CP24, the local 24 hour CHUM news channel in Toronto, and the clip was playing (live I believe) at about 2.30 pm this afternoon in the coffee shop I was in. The dozen other occupants all moved down to the other end of the shop to escape Mr Martin's manic performance except for one street person who watched mesmerized as Paul went off the scale with excitement over Scary Stephen Harper.

I wouldn't bet on seeing it on the main stations. They'll bury it.

Hey! I predicted that Martin was on the verge of a "Dean Scream" a few days ago on a thread on Andrew Coyne's blog. All that caffeine that fuels him must have kicked in.

Just saw Martin on the CBC national, yelling
WE'RE GOING TO WIN" followed by the announcer saying he is going to----was laughing so hard I missed it. Good luck to all our troops heading out on their "peacekeeping" mission. Why can't the libs tell the truth. Wouldn't it have been a good photo op for Anne to be their to send them off.

The latest "scream" seems to be about abortion. I think this item gives a pretty clear picture of how dishonest the Liberals are on this issue:

Funny that the media seem oblivious to Paul Martin's duplicity on this issue.

An old dog's tricks
"Though Martin’s hopes appeared doomed, he maintained that he could still push the vote to a second ballot, where he might have a chance. He arrived at an all candidates debate in Montreal, where the constitutional accord was certain to be an explosive issue. He wasn’t prepared to play down the rift with Chrétien over it. He decided that he was going to shove it right down his throat... The campaign had been hotly contested, but until this moment, there was little to suggest it would leave a permanent scar. As Paul Martin’s supporters prepared to tear open a gash, that was about to change.
"In the Liberal Party, there was no group more vocal than the Liberal youth wing, whose members in this campaign were rallying around Paul Martin. In Quebec, the youth of the party were particularly incensed because Chrétien, their native son, was against the Meech Lake Accord. As the candidates’ debate began, Martin pressed for a clear statement of his position. 'Don’t give us a great speech,' he demanded of Chrétien. 'Just answer the question. What is your bottom line on Meech Lake?' When Chrétien started to respond, he was drowned out by shouts of 'Yes or no? Yes or no?'
"Martin kept at him. 'Jean, for the love of God, you want to become prime minister of Canada, but you give us no indication where you are going.'
"When it became obvious that Chrétien, who was trying to put forth a nuanced position, would not make a categorical endorsement of the accord, the demonstrators began pumping their fists. They madly waved placards and began shouting 'Vendu! Vendu!' You’re a sellout to the Anglos, they were telling Chrétien, using a word even most separatists were reluctant to employ. You’re a sellout to the Anglos.
"Then came chants of 'Judas! Judas!'...
"Chrétien tried to explain his position. 'I couldn’t be clearer,' he said of his Meech stance. 'If the Charter of Rights is not protected, it’s no.' ...
"Martin wasn’t apologetic. 'I’m living in the Quebec of today, not the Quebec of fifty years ago. Quebec will not accept being put in its place.' Many years later, he would still insist that the demonstrations were spontaneous, that he hadn’t even noticed them. 'To be quite honest I didn’t realize it took place. . . . When you’re a candidate, you have a lot of other things going on. You’re not looking at demonstrations.' ...
"From Chrétien’s perspective, the leadership race was more or less locked up at the time of the debate. Martin was simply showing the desperate behaviour of a sore loser... Describing the turn of events as 'awful,' Eddie Goldenberg, a Chrétien adviser, maintained that Martin, or Big Suit, as another Chrétien aide derisively described him, had inflicted lasting damage on the party. 'What they did, which was for very short-term gain, was to make it very hard to bring people together afterwards,' Goldenberg said. 'That’s a lesson in politics. You have to be very careful, particularly when you aren’t going to win.'"

Advance poll ballots seem to be under the control of Libs, at least in my riding... VI-north. With high advance polling, nothing will surprise me, except perhaps a Lib majority.

Whyizit Martin is in a wild eyed rant about a half dozen Tory candidates who will somehow force Harper to reverse same sex marriage and abortion rights? His selective memory is as full of holes as his campaign. More than 40 of his own party voted against SSM, and somehow could not foist their radical hidden agendas onto the Martin government. I think Paul should go sailing.
