Bias? What bias?

160x_cp_harper_051213 Check out the wonderfully flattering CP photo of Stephen Harper, running this morning on CTV's website.

[Note: The photo changed. Terry was referring to the one I've just inserted--pulled from my cache--which carried a caption noting the teleprompter in front of his mouth--admin]

What's wrong with it? The picture of Martin is bad -- he looks like a slack-jawed idiot.

This shows you the childish, frustrated, morally-poverty stricken mentality these so-called "news reporters" possess, as they try to get those $$$ spin doctor $$$ jobs. I don't even watch CTV anymore, ever since Lyin' Brian Muldoon's offspring started cashing a paycheque signed by the network.

Left liberals copied from CNN.

They aped CNN. Reid/John Duffy copy from the "bastards" Americans, as ex-MP C. Parrish named the Americans. Liberals: the party of apers.

There is more/worse to come; what is the next rumour/salime from them? The salander/salime is spewed from the left liberals of AdScam Martin who will say/do anything to keep the "beer and popcorn" out of the reach of the Canadian "peasants". For the left liberals the end justifies the means: slime Harper and keep Power in their claws.

This attempted character assassination is done for the audience: Canadians.>>>>>

Interesting the CVT lackeys pulled it after you published this openly negative messaging...means the MSM is watching us watch them.

This election, the separate standards for Martin and Harper will become amplified...and closely checked by the alternate media.

Frankly, anyone who denies the Totonto and Ottawa based media do not have a dulal standard in political reporting is either incredibly partisan biased or hasn't accessed the media in the past 25 years.

Last election there was a photographer Jonathan Hayward that did similiar shots. There was a bit of a stink about it then.
Same guy up to old tricks?

WLM: I don't know if they pulled it because of Terry's post necessarily. Everybody is updating sites pretty regularly right now. Still, you make an interesting observation.

(Personally, I like the more interesting photos the CP guys get--and obviously I've indulged in bias myself. See http://westernstandard.blogs.com/shotgun/2005/11/gatekeepers_of_.html

--as long as most people understand your bias, then they can take it for what it is.)

Actually, this is the most interesting election I've ever witnessed in my life because of all the updating and all the different voices (including yours and others commenting here) chipping in via sites and blogs. The quick responses are dizzying and quite humbling in some cases for a paid typist like myself.

I started off in this election period thinking, oh no, here we go again when the media went apey over Harper restating his party's policy on a free vote on same-sex marriage. But now with all the chatter, the quick debunking, the debate, I'm settling down, enjoying it, and learning a helluva lot.

They have posted a miraculous happening.

The Tau "T" cross is an ancient symbol of eternal life. Amen.

Tau Cross

Tau Cross was shaped in the form of a "T," and is an ancient symbol of eternal life. The Druids venerated and made a tree sacred by etching into its barn a tau cross. Among Christians it is hailed as the "Cross of St. Anthony" since the saint was allegedly martyred on such a cross. The tau cross is utilized in Freemasonry as one of its symbols. A.G.H. >>>

Has anyone else noticed the CBC banner ad? Headshots of Layton, Harper and Duceppe then transition to a picture of Martin in the House being applauded...

Bastards at the cbc are running this ridiculous flash cartoon bashing Harper! Argh, burn the CBC! Go see it at cbcnews.ca

Unwillingness to hound a corrupt administration, guilty of malfeasance from office by the country's supposed free press is no more than silent acceptance of corruption.
Is it any wonder that corruption thrived the for the past twelve years of Liberal administration.
And still we continue to see that acceptance as this campaign proceeds, by the negative jibes about Harper and conservative positions as opposed to Martin's often leaked, trumpeted haloed gems.

Martin's Leaked Gems?!? well ok but only if you consider this to be a gem. A goose egg sized boil, livid, with purple, scarlet and green veins going into it. complete with a glistening yellow and cream colored center pulsing with each heartbeat, which threatens to burst it like a spoon thrusting into a morning grapefruit, or are you being sarcastic. I think the above fairly well describes the "gems of Paul Martin" all sensible people want to look away in disgust, duck and run for cover or lance it. Only liberal supporters would consider suckling "gems like Paul Martin's" like their mothers breast.

Terribly sorry about the poetic imagery, but i've always beleived that extreme language is more honest than delicate.

Andrew; just watched the cartoon at cbc.ca. I can't even get angry about it because it was so lame. It seemed like they were targeting the junior high set, but those kids can't vote, so it can't be that. The only thing that really went through my mind was, "Geez louise, if you're gonna do this kind of thing, hire some talent, would ya?"

Posted by: Kevin Steel | 2005-12-13 7:14:31 PM

Kevin the CBC can't hire Americans it would embarrass them and violate CRTC regs.

Isn't the point of the photo, the subtle issue no one is talking about, that Harper has two teleprompters with him wherever he goes, including when he goes into retail stores and schools? The man is entirely scripted. A bit ridiculous. And who is doing the scripting? The MSM are giving Harper such a light ride this campaign that no one wants to actually put the issue into print or on TV.
