Reach out and touch someone

I watched the television news this evening and managed to catch three reports on the allegation against Alfonso Gagliano. All three, CBC, CTV and Global carried an interview with the former minister of public works that included his flat denial.

Not one gave an indication they had phoned the New York newspaper to check on the source of the story. Here’s a CP story that pretty much follows the same line. Mind you, I didn’t see all of the Global TV report. Did anyone else see an interview with the reporter, Greg Smith, or perhaps copies of the FBI documents referred to? The way everybody in Canada seems to be treating this is like the story originated on the moon. For gosh sakes, just call ‘em and try to get the documents! It’s only New York. It doesn't cost that much. Here’s the NY Daily News contact page. Gosh, that wasn't hard to find.

Maybe we can get these posted somewhere and take a look-see ourselves. I’ll catch the 11 o’clocks. If nobody’s bothered to phone the NY Daily News, I’m writing them to see what’s up.
